DISCOVER THE SOURCE OF HEALING

Tonight in Jr. High OTTAGETTU, special guest Kristy Bowers, Children’s Pastor @ CFCOG, will continue our series on pain & struggles. We’ll see how Jesus is our ultimate healer. Luke 4:14-21 shows us that Jesus hurts when we hurt, that it’s important for us to spend time building our friendship with Jesus, & that we need the support of people we trust as we address our pain & struggles.

Jesus’ heart still beats for the weary, for the oppressed, for those who are broken & hurting & desperate & crying out for a Messiah. This describes the situation many teenagers face today. They may not realize they’re hurting or they might not be able to explain or describe it, but they need freedom-they need healing & change.

I’d encourage you to spend time talking with your teenager about this week’s lesson. Here are some questions you might want to ask:
  • Jesus’ mission is linked to his love for you & me & all of humanity. How do you feel when you think about Jesus loving you so deeply that he hurts when you hurt?
  • What is the value of prayer & Bible reading as you seek healing & help with your pain & struggles?
  • How do you know if a friend, leader, or family member is truly trustworthy? What evidence can you look for?
Thanks for your prayers for the students in Jr. High OTTAGETTU! Have a blessed week!
